. Опубликовано: 17 ноя 2010. My pen crapped out even though I have not dropped it. It stays in it's 'coffin' (a fancy wooden pen case with inner foam) when not in use but the bugger suddenly did not work when I planned to use it yesterday.
It keeps selecting things on the desktop everywhere even though it's just barely touching the pad as you can see in the video. So I thought the problem is with a broken coil as described here abiamy.com/abiyasablogs/2008/04/06/fixing-a-broken-wacom-pen/.

I guess I had to return the pen for repair or buy a replacement. Good thing my old circa 1997 graphire pen is compatible with this Bamboo.
I dunno why it worked in Vista using the latest driver (521-6a). I almost donated this old serial tablet because there's no compatible Vista driver for it. It's not fun that the pen will just crap out like that.

I tried restarting services, re-installing the drivers, unplugging/plugging the tablet to other computers and lastly disassembling the pen. But still it doesn't respond. My pen doesn't have the loose coil like the one in this video. I tried connecting the tablet to another computer, the touch input still works but the pen itself doesn't work anymore. Press Ctrl+MouseLeftClick on About button 6. Hover pen on tablet n note pressure value JUST when it registers 7. Replace value into 'PressureSafteyMargin' inside.tabletperfs file 8. Click restore!
Contact if u need more help. 4 года назад One of those two metal buttons around, detached into 3 parts, one is a round piece of metal, another one is the button that the switch is actually pressing on, and the third is the thing that holds them in place. Now I saw that the round piece of metal is bent, I tried to reatach it, but it doesn't work anymore, it doesn't make that click sound and doesn't make contact I wonder where I could find a replacement for that piece of round metal I saw similar ones on a phone but they were too big. 5 лет назад I tried new tip - no luck.
I tried the soft/hard in settings - no luck. I installed and reinstalled EVERY available driver out there - no luck. Finally I took it apart (but the top part was MUCH harder to take off than in your video, I used a screw driver and scratched the top all over). These pens are just garbage, many of them are defective out of the box and many break for no reason at all, just normal usage. And a new pen is HALF the price of the ENTIRE package MTE-450. 5 лет назад It became so sticky that wet cloth, pcv cleaner, 96% spirits couldn't get if off.
Like i dipped it in superglue or something. One thing helped though - nail polisher / removal or whatever it's called. This somehow (do not know why) killed my second stylus and not it's freaking out. I think they are so fragile that they break right after you take them away from the tablet. I will not be replacing it as the price is far too high.Will consider something more robust and reliable that doesn't break.

6 лет назад For what happens to you, after opening the pen, you find a grey piece over a brown one where the coil is situated. Use a small screwdriver and insert it in the small square hole in it and pull it out. I had the exact same problem than you and after extracting the grey piece and put it back again, started to work 100%.
The problem is that the small white piece in the grey one is a little bit pressing the sensor so when you put the pen close to the tablet, it thinks you are pressing it.
